The default Census applet reports 10 years of data; I’m guessing that when this was done, one or more of the relevant variables hadn’t reported for 2012, and 2011 was the latest year available – and what’s 10 years before 2011? 2001. Poking through the interface, it seems the data doesn’t even go back before 2000, but I’m not sure (bls.gov is hard to use).
What caused the sudden increase in 2005? Was the variable redefined or taken from another data source?
