Shaping the Digital Age-A Progressive Broadband Agenda

On Thursday July 18, the Progressive Policy Institute will hold a forum focusing on progressive regulation and management of America’s broadband. In order to promote growth and fulfill broadband’s promise as a tool for social empowerment,  progressives must not rely on old regulatory standards, but instead advance new and innovative solutions for the Digital Age, all while balancing rights of privacy and encouraging tech entrepreneurs.

The speakers for the event will include:

Rep. Suzan DelBene (D-Wash.), Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet and Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law
Ev Ehrlich, former Undersecretary of Commerce in the Clinton administration and author of new PPI report, “Shaping the Digital Age: A Progressive Broadband Agenda”
Elliot E. Maxwell, former Special Advisor for the Digital Economy to U.S. Secretary of Commerce William Daley and U. S. Secretary of Commerce Norm Mineta
Nicol Turner-Lee, President and CEO, National Association for Multiethnicity in Communications
