PPI invites you to a special event at the Rayburn House Office Building, room 2060, on Monday, June 10th, for a special event and conversation with the Honorable Ian Liddell-Grainger MP and experts entitled Tax Reform: Lessons from the United Kingdom. Our guest speaker will be the Honorable Ian Liddell-Grainger, UK Member of Parliament and Chair of the All-Party Taxation Group. Liddell-Grainger will discuss the difficulties the United Kingdom has experienced with their no-file tax system known as Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE).
Liddell-Grainger will specifically address how the goal of providing automated tax returns and lowering error rates and inaccurate payments may be mutually exclusive in an age where more and more individuals are self-employed, work more than one job, have two-earner incomes, and/or have significantly more complex family lives and structures than when PAYE was originally envisioned and implemented.
