About this event

Join the Progressive Policy Institute (PPI) for a convening on the future of work and the global competitiveness of independent workers. We will explore what gig workers need to compete on the individual, national, and global levels; the legal changes needed to implement portable benefits and a better tax regime; and the growth of a business sector able to support independent workers.

The panel discussions will be facilitated by PPI’s VP and Chief Economist, Dr. Michael Mandel, and will feature a variety of experts including:

 

  • Paul Thanos, International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce
  • Dr. Carl Camden, IPSE – Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed
  • Dr. Liz Wilke, Gusto
  • Dr. Caroline Bruckner, American University

  • Ben Ritz, Progressive Policy Institute
