PPI will join a bipartisan coalition of organizations, along with Reps. Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.), Robert Dold (R-Ill.) and Charlie Dent (R-Penn.), to present the first “Golden Goose Awards” to honor breakthroughs in federally funded research.
The Golden Goose Award honors scientists whose research was funded by the federal government and benefited society in some important way, such as a new technology or an advance in health, but seemed odd or obscure at the time it was conducted, or led to that benefit unexpectedly or serendipitously.
