Recent election state, federal and by-election wins in Australia, Joe Biden’s presidency and a resurgent UK Labour Party under Keir Starmer show voters returning to progressive parties across the anglosphere. Will this last? Can ALP, US Democrats and UK Labour retain recent gains and create lasting winning coalitions? Australia’s Chifley Research Centre and the US-based Progressive Policy Institute have assembled experts from Australia, the US and the UK to find the answers.
Join Guardian Australia Editor Lenore Taylor on 19 April at Sydney’s Unions NSW Auditorium as she asks three of the best brains in the business whether the progressive political resurgence is a new norm and how the ALP, US Democrats and UK Labour need to build on it.
Discussing the answers will be:
- Will Marshall, Founder and President of the Progressive Policy Institute in the US
- Claire Ainsley, former Director of Policy for the UK Labour Leader, Keir Starmer, and Director of PPI’s project on Center-Left Renewal
- Dee Madigan, Executive Creative Director, Creative Edge
