Christine is a 4th generation Alaskan. Her Dad was an Alaska State Trooper so she grew up in some of Alaska’s smallest, most remote communities. Christine started commercial fishing in high school and continues to participate with her family in the largest, most sustainable, wild salmon fishery in the world.
Over the past 24 years Christine has had many roles in telecom, all connected with non-profit entities. She served as Board President for a rural cooperative as they deployed early DSL service. Later she worked for another cooperative in customer service and enterprise sales, and then as a regulatory and compliance analyst during the major changes brought by the National Broadband Plan and USF Transformation Order, and through related state regulatory changes.
She is currently the Executive Director for the Alaska Telecom Association (ATA), whose members are Alaska’s telecommunications carriers. She speaks for ATA’s members in Washington, D.C, at the state capitol, at their state regulatory commission, and with the media. Christine has served on multiple state task forces related to telecom, and works closely with the newly formed Alaska Broadband Office.
