Kim Nguyen has always been cause-motivated, highly empathetic, and others-centered. She recognizes the many privileges she has been afforded and therefore feels compelled to carry forward the voices and perspectives of those who may not have a microphone. She’s advocated for women when she was a fundraiser for the Women’s Center of San Joaquin County, frontline workers when she launched the San Antonio chapter of Frontline Foods during the pandemic, and now older adults through her research and Silver Scaffold.
She discovered one of her life’s purposes in 2019 when she returned to school. With her mother’s technology struggles as her inspiration, she embarked upon a humanistic research study to better understand how older adults use information and communications technology (ICT), the barriers they encounter, and how ICT could be improved for older adults. Then, in 2022, she embarked upon another research study to gain insights from those training older adults in technology.
Kim earned a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s degree in organizational development, and a doctorate in organizational change and leadership.
