Rachel Brooks is a program manager and intelligence analyst specialized in disinformation and other digital threats to democracy at Microsoft’s Democracy Forward Initiative.
Rachel’s skills include open-source intelligence (OSINT), deep and dark web (DDW) monitoring, periodic reporting, political risk analysis, travel risk assessment, threat assessment, analytical tradecraft, online sentiment analysis, security and investigations, training creation, and project management. Her intelligence experience includes products related to far-right extremism, conspiracy theories, civil unrest, crime, political instability, terrorism, maritime operations, aviation security, technology, philanthropy, and global humanitarian efforts.
Rachel is an Institute for Economics and Peace Ambassador and on the board for Pacific Coast Analyst Roundtable. She volunteers as a Fulbright U.S. Alumni Ambassador and Girl Security mentor. Rachel has an M.A. in international relations and security from England’s University of Bradford and a B.A. in public policy from William & Mary.
