Yuka Hayashi

Senior Fellow

Yuka Hayashi is a senior fellow at the Progressive Policy Institute. Her areas of research include international trade, economic security and U.S.-East Asia relations. Yuka was a journalist for the Wall Street Journal for two decades, most recently, covering trade policy and international economy from Washington. Previously, she was a Journal correspondent in Tokyo, her hometown, reporting on regional geopolitics, Japan’s economy, politics and culture. Yuka also worked at Dow Jones and Reuters in New York and Tokyo.  Yuka studied economics at Waseda University and has a masters degree in journalism from Columbia. She lives in Washington DC.
