PPI Director of Health Care Arielle Kane Discusses New Telehealth Report on PPI’s Radically Pragmatic Podcast

  • November 11, 2021

As host of this week’s episode of the Radically Pragmatic Podcast, Progressive Policy Institute (PPI) Director of Health Care Arielle Kane sat down with Charlie Katebi, Policy Analyst at Americans for Prosperity (AFP), to discuss their new bipartisan report “Telehealth Saves Money and Lives: Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

“If you imagine over time things leveling out, not having payment parity laws on the books, people more self-selecting into seeking care remotely or in-person, I do think the trend shows that telehealth could garner a bunch of savings. … It shows a lot of potential,” said Arielle on the podcast.

Arielle and Charlie discussed the state of telehealth prior to COVID-19, the potential for cost savings their report identifies, and how policymakers at the federal and state level can confidently take action to protect and expand virtual care.
