Fireside Chat with Rep. Grace Meng
In January 2026, the Women in Policy Alliance hosted our monthly Coffee & Conversation series, bringing together women in policy on Capitol Hill for coffee, conversation, and connection.
The event featured a fireside chat on space policy with Rep. Grace Meng (D-N.Y.) and PPI’s Mary Guenther. The discussion explored the policy landscape shaping the future of space, followed by time for networking among women working across government, advocacy, and the private sector.
Fireside Chat with Rep. Lizzie Fletcher
In December 2025, the Women in Policy Alliance hosted Rep. Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) and PPI’s Ed Gresser for an important conversation on gender bias in the U.S. tariff code and the growing focus on “pink tariffs.” The conversation highlighted that consumers are feeling tariff impacts more directly than in the past, from higher prices on basic goods to unpredictability in supply chains.
Rep. Fletcher stressed that tariff authority sits squarely with Congress, yet that responsibility has recently drifted toward the executive branch. The result is unpredictability and swings that affect businesses and households alike. Restoring a coherent, accountable process is critical to strengthening U.S. trade policy and reaffirming constitutional norms.
