Brodi Fontenot is a senior policy fellow with the Progressive Policy Institute’s Center for Funding America’s Future. Fontenot is CEO of Fontenot Strategic Consulting LLC and a recognized expert in public sector management, public sector process improvement, and using performance and budget data to improve agency processes for better results. Fontenot has over 17 years of experience working in public sector management. Fontenot was previously the top management official at two federal departments—as the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Assistant Secretary for Management and nominated to be Treasury’s Chief Financial Officer, and as the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Assistant Secretary for Administration—where he oversaw all aspects of human resources, acquisition, budget, and real estate development and real estate operations. Fontenot also served as a staff member of the U.S. Senate Budget Committee, where he oversaw and helped guide legislative development of over $70 billion in federal spending and policy, including the Departments of Transportation and Veterans Affairs. Fontenot began his federal career at the Government Accountability Office where he analyzed various federal programs for Congress.
