Sophia Lu is a Google Public Policy Fellow with the Progressive Policy Institute. Her work explores how emerging technologies may be directed towards facilitating across the board economic growth and greater civic participation, with a particular emphasis on the creative economy. Previously, Sophia interned with the Services, Investment, and Digital Trade team at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and was a research assistant at the Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET). She also has a background in local government service, as a policy analyst for the City of San José, and working on campaigns in the Bay Area. Sophia is currently a junior at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service pursuing a BSFS in Science, Technology, and International Affairs (STIA).
