Sophia Lu is a former Google Public Policy Fellow with the Progressive Policy Institute. Her work explores how emerging technologies may be directed towards facilitating across the board economic growth and greater civic participation, with a particular emphasis on the creative economy. Previously, Sophia interned with the Services, Investment, and Digital Trade team at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and was a research assistant at the Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET). She also has a background in local government service, as a policy analyst for the City of San José, and working on campaigns in the Bay Area. Sophia is currently a junior at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service pursuing a BSFS in Science, Technology, and International Affairs (STIA).
