Joel Gladwin is a Policy Fellow at the Startup Coalition, the industry body representing UK tech startups and scaleups, and a public policy consultant to a number of technology companies. He served as a Special Adviser to two Secretaries of State at the Department for Digital Culture Media & Sport (DCMS) between May 2021 and September 2022. In this role, Joel worked on a number of tech policy issues including the Online Safety Act, artificial intelligence, tech regulation, competition & antitrust, as well as tech investment and skills policy. Prior to this, he served as Head of Policy at Coadec (now the Startup Coalition) and also worked on tech policy issues in Brussels and London for a consultancy.
