Michael Pearson is the Director of Workforce Development Policy at the Progressive Policy Institute, where he leads the organization’s work on issues relating to workforce development, the school-to-work transition, and career pathways for non-college workers.
Before joining PPI, Michael served in various roles—most recently as a Senior Policy Analyst—at the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC) under U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich, U.S. Representative Don Beyer, and U.S. Representative Carolyn Maloney. At the JEC, he worked on a range of issues including budget, education, health, and tax policy. Michael also previously worked as a field organizer on Beto O’Rourke’s 2018 campaign for U.S. Senate.
Michael is a proud Texan and an avid runner. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin.
